My wife went down to Oregon for her nephew’s high school graduation so she, along with her parents, did a little driving around only to end up in McMinnville and of course when you’re in McMinnville you visit a certain goose:
Also visiting the Goose were at least 6 visitors from England:
It would almost have been worth going with her to visit the coast and see the sights but her brother and his wife are such a shit show that even the air museum wouldn’t have been worth it. I’ve seen it before and I’ll see it again, but without the drama.

I spent like 2 hours geeking out over the declassified and disassembled main camera from the sr71 once.

When I went my wife was with me so I couldn’t spend as much time geeking out as much as I would have otherwise since it was definitely not her cup of tea. To her credit she insisted we go but I wasn’t going to make her sit around all day. I think her favorite thing was getting a picture of my head sticking up through the top of the B-17 (this was before they sold it) .

I saw the Goose at the old museum. I need to get out there to see it at its new home!

I take my helicopter lessons across the street from that! The evergreen rivals Smithsonian air and space if you ask me.

I’ve worked around airfields my whole adult life. Evergreen’s driveway freaks me out every time- I have a mini panic attack thinking I’ve just committed a controlled movement area violation/runway incursion.
Totally fantastic museum, though! I’m looking forward to taking my girls there when they get a bit bigger.
